Mount Roosevelt Trail and Friendship Tower

A short forest hike to the Friendship Tower, dedicated July 4, 1919, as a memorial to Theodore Roosevelt from his friend Seth Bullock and the Society of Black Hills Pioneers. The tower has an observation platform, and USFS says it joined the National Register of Historic Places in 2005. Length is listed differently by agency: the city gives a 0.8-mile loop, the Forest Service about a mile round trip. Sections are steep with loose rock. The mapped line shows the portion available in OpenStreetMap.
