Accessibility
We haven't found an official accessibility guide to the historic district, so here's what we can support with a source. Please call ahead for anything you depend on.
Getting around town
- Blue curbs mark ADA parking, according to the City of Deadwood.
- The city describes the Historic Main Street Urban Trail as easy walking, under a mile, with 21 interpretive signs. It doesn't describe the surface or slope, so we can't call it wheelchair accessible.
- Main Street is brick-paved, and many buildings are historic. Entrances vary, so ask each business.
- We couldn't confirm whether trolleys have wheelchair lifts. Call the city at (605) 578-2082.
Service animals
State food-service rules allow service animals in dining and sales areas, as the Chamber notes. Service dogs are welcome at Mount Moriah Cemetery.
State resources
Travel South Dakota's accessibility page lists wheelchair-accessible ground transport and airport support, and its accessible lodging guide includes The Lodge at Deadwood.
This website
We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 AA: keyboard navigation, visible focus, sufficient contrast, and reduced-motion support. If something doesn't work for you, please tell us.
