Spearfish
A creekside town at the mouth of the canyon

Spearfish sits at the northern end of Spearfish Canyon. The D.C. Booth Historic National Fish Hatchery, established in 1896 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is the classic stop: free admission, trout you can feed, and underwater viewing windows. Drive time and distance are routing estimates from OSRM; allow extra for season, traffic and road work.
