Crazy Horse Memorial
A mountain carving begun in 1948

Korczak Ziolkowski began carving the Crazy Horse Memorial in 1948, and the work continues. The site between Hill City and Custer also houses the Indian Museum of North America, and its mission centers on preserving the cultures and living heritage of Native American peoples. Drive time and distance are routing estimates from OSRM; allow extra for season, traffic and road work.
